Hey, welcome to ‘Discover Cordoba, the Umayyad Capital of Al-Andalus’.
With this travel plan through Andalusia, Spain, we provide you day by day scheduled itinerary plan, with booking consulting and assistance as well as optional in-person local guides at any part of the program, plus monument guided tours or other activities and arrangements to set the trip to your own standards while you are planning your trip.
Day 1-4 → Discover Cordoba, the Umayyad Capital of Al-Andalus.

Visit Medina Azahara
Visit Umayyad Mosque Visit the historical centre of Cordoba, medina al-Qadima including private museums, expositions and an optional group dinner in town.

Walk through the Medina Al-Qadima of Córdoba.
Upon arrival and check-in to your hotel in Cordoba, we will take a leisurely walk through the Al-Medina Al-Qadima of Córdoba into the very surroundings of the Ummaya Mosque, current Cathedral of Córdoba. Free time is provided here for any extra activities, rest, or shopping! As well as a lively town center and many shops, there are three active mosques in Córdoba today worth visiting, a marvelous opportunity to meet some local Muslims while touring around town. Our welcome group dinner plan is optional at extra cost, we will advise you on possible activities at the hotel lobby upon check-in.
*Optional: Days 3-6 → Discover Granada, the last Muslim Kingdom of Al-Andalus.
You will be introduced to the modern capital of Granada, we will go through the most important areas of the historical medina within the modern city centre, the old medina after which Granada is named. After this introduction you will have free time for shopping, leisure walks or activities in Granada, during your last afternoon in Spain.
Half a clear day should be allocated to visiting the Royal Alhambra Palaces which was in its day a city of its own. Hence we should plan a minimum of 2 nights in Granada to get a first hand experience of perhaps the most beautiful city in Spain today.

Recommended AVE High Speed Train connections, for faster city connections,
High speed train connections are suitable and advisable for independent or guided small or large group trips to save time in covering long distances between cities, at times 400-500 km distance. You can combine these train connections with regular taxis, renting a vehicle, having a courtesy driver or private coach and driver service to get from the main stations to our final hotel or other activity locations. We usually plan our routes pacing out road trips with interesting and refreshing stops every 90 minutes, while also counting on meal timing and other group needs (Muslim prayers, or other requests).
