Day 5-9

Days 3-5 → Discover Granada, the last Muslim Kingdom of Al-Andalus.

You will be introduced to the modern capital of Granada, we will go through the most important areas of the historical medina within the modern city center, the old medina after which Granada is named. After this introduction, you will have free time for shopping, leisure walks or activities in Granada, during your last afternoon in Spain.

GRANADA WAS THE LAST MUSLIM KINGDOM ADDED TO SPAIN, AND IN GREAT MEASURE RESPONSIBLE FOR AWAKENING THE WELL KNOWN REINAISSANCE THROUGHOUT EUROPE. THROUGH KNOWING THIS CITY FROM IT’S ORIGIN UNTIL TODAY, WE MAY UNDERSTAND MORE ABOUT IT’S UNIQUENESS AS A CULTURAL AND PHYSICAL CROSSROAD FROM EAST TO WEST, SOUTH TO NORTH DURING THE ENTIRE MUSLIM PERIOD OF AL-ANDALUS AND BEYOND.

TOUR OF THE ALHAMBRA COURT CITY, PALACES AND GARDENS.

This is where we most highly recommend to tour as a guided visit, at the Alhambra palatial town, which includes Nasrid Palaces, Alkasaba fortress, Generalife summer palace & gardens, and the old medina of the Alhambra.

Afterwards, we will also recommend a guided walk and talk through the old medina of "Garnata", it's main areas, divisions, and city walls. During this tour we visit the Albayzin Mosque, next to the Mirador de San Nicolás, most famous viewing point of Granada, beauty views to the Alhambra. We walk down to the town centre, visit the 'souq' streets, and the area's most historical points.

Any free time in the afternoon can be used to make your own plans, for shopping or extra optional activities available in Granada. Even the modern town in Granada is a fusion of Souq markets, old alleyways, river side & the active modern city appeals.
